Photorealistic editorial image of a modern classroom split into three zones. Left (Before): a teacher with a tablet walks between desks as students take a quick diagnostic quiz; colored table markers show groupings and the teacher’s tablet displays checkboxes and notes about prior knowledge. Center (During): a teacher kneels to deliver conversational feedback while two students peer-assess and one writes a self-assessment; a wall-mounted screen shows a live tracker assigning students to support groups. Right (After): the teacher at an interactive whiteboard reviews a histogram annotated with mean and standard deviation alongside an item-analysis table and sticky-note interventions, contemplating next steps. Diverse students and teacher, soft natural window light, shallow depth of field, balanced editorial composition.

Before teaching

  • Diagnostic quick check: what prior knowledge do students have? Use this to group instruction.

During teaching

  • Short formative tasks with immediate feedback (conversational, written comments, peer and self‑assessment).
  • Track which students are in which support group.

After teaching

  • Summative check, then compute mean and SD and do an item analysis.
  • Ask: Is dispersion large? If yes, is it test design, teaching mismatch, or real differences? Decide targeted interventions.
